Elland 38 Leigh East 12

East 1st team travelled over to Yorkshire to carry on were they left off last week against Pilkington Recs but were unable to come away with the points.

East had made five key changes within the week leading up to the game which showed on the field when they came up against a big enthusiastic set from Elland.

Try scorers for East were Sam Grainey and Adam Holland who also added two goals.

East traveled the short distance to Wigan and took a early lead when Ellis Noon crossed in the first set of the game.

East increased the lead when Jack Hansen took their big pack on to score under the posts both goaled by Tom Worthington.

Orrell pulled one back before Billy Allred crossed out wide to make it 18-6 at half time.

East then scored early on in the second half when Allred broke and rounded the fullback to score his second of the match. This was quickly followed up by his hat-trick try out wide but Tom worthington was unable to add the extras.

Orrell refused to give up though and got a late consultation try.
