Haydock Warriors 10 Leigh East u15s 26
East u15s travelled up the East Lancs Road to play in a double header match which consisted of a league game and a Lancashire Cup round one game rolled into one. The visitors came away with the victory.
East who are still unbeaten in the league extended the gap at the top of the table with tries from Brad Whelan (2), Dec Almond, Jack Kirkpatrick and Connor Wilcock with Whelan adding three goals.
This week they play Chorley Panthers in the second round of the Lancashire Cup.
Newton Storm 48 Leigh East u14s 0
After a great win against Waterhead last Sunday the 14s were looking for another scalp in the shape of Newton who were held four apiece by Waterhead a couple of weeks ago.
East started the game with plenty of enthusiasm but missing four players soon took its toll on the boys.
Newton raced into an 18-0 half time lead and continued to score freely after the break as the East defence melted away in the heat.
It will be tough for the lads to bounce back but the coaching staff have lots of faith in them.
Leigh East u13s 0 Blackbrook 72
U13s faced recent NWC cup winners and prem division leaders Blackbrook Royals in the firstst round of the Lancs cup.
The game was a one sided affair with Blackbrook keeping East score-less. The East lads tried hard notably Niall Seddon, Callum Hargreaves and Kieran Bellamy.
Wigan St Patricks 24 Leigh East u11s 12
Despite a spirited performance East fell short to a well drilled Pat’s side.
Overall a good team performance just the wrong side of the result.

Leigh East u10s 16 Blackbrook 34
Leigh East started off strongly with our girls showing the boys how to play, East went into the second half 24-6 down.
Some good running and sloppy defence from East let Blackbrook pull away in the second half.
One bright note for East was Man of the Match Joshua Richardson.
Leigh East u9s 4 Blackbrook 5
The u9s took on Blackbrook and came up just short although the more fluent rugby was played by the home side.
Improvement was evident from last week in defence but East eventually lost by one try
Jack Edge put in a top performance along with James Molyneaux and Man of the Match Nathan Southern.
Leigh East 8s 2 Latchford Albion 8
East u8s lost to a quicker and more organised Latchford side.
There was a try from parents mom josh Hopkins and two from a storming run from Cai O’Brien in the last play of the game.
Best tackle went to Jacob Hardy for a number of good tackles and best run to Ryan Kelleher.
East 7s and 8s also did a three mile sponsored walk around Pennington Flash to raise money for extra kit due to growing numbers and training equipment.
Leigh East U7s 7 Orrell St James 4
East put on an entertaining display which saw a hard fought game end in a victory.
Each week every player is upping their game.
They are now working hard in attack to find space and therefore turning their runs in to tries.
Tries from Brody Allred (2), Luke Thorpe 2, Finn Penkywicz, Bobbi Allred and well done to Fynn Jackson who topped off his Man of the Match performance with a try.
