RANGI Chase today left Salford – paving the way for a move to Leigh.
The Centurions have been heavily linked with the former Man of Steel for several weeks.
He was under contract with Salford, but club owner Marwan Koukash took to Twitter today to say: “Following a disciplinary procedure, the club has decided to terminate the contract of Rangi Chase.”
Three of Chase’s Salford team-mates from last season – Harrison Hansen, Cory Paterson and Remi Maitua –have joined Leigh ahead of the 2016 season. Gareth Hock has previously made the move.
Meanwhile Martin Aspinwall has joined Barrow Raiders following his release from Leigh.
The former Wigan forward endured a frustrating stint at the Sports Village because of injuries. Aspinwall, 34, joins a strong ex-Leigh contingent which also includes former skipper Oliver Wilkes.
When Leigh announced they were shelving their reserve team for 2016 they also confirmed Cameron Pitman, Chris Hankinson and Jamie Tracey would be joining the Raiders on loan for 2016.
