PAUL Rowley says he has been delighted by the attitude of his squad after a week of pre-season training.

Despite the dreadful weather last week, Leigh have been put through their paces as they prepare for the 2016 campaign.

“It was a good first week,” said coach Rowley.

“Although some players will only return to full training in January because of injury or extended leave, training has started brilliantly.

“The players have shown a great attitude, with the new signings showing a great attitude and fitting in well.”

At this stage of pre-season, the focus is on weights and swimming.

Rowley faces a big call in the next few weeks as he decides on who will replace Oliver Wilkes as club captain.

“We have a lot of potential captains in our dressing room,” said Rowley.

“That is not a decision I intend to make just yet but I have a lot of options.”
