Leigh Centurions 11 Halifax 4

Leigh ‘s victory over Halifax on Wednesday means they have overcome the three teams likely to be challenging for the Kingstone Press Championship title in recent weeks.

Leigh cut the gap between themselves and Halifax to just two points after a pulsating 11-4 victory over Halifax at the Leigh Sports Village.

The Centurions survived a late scare to beat the team which put 60 points past them earlier in the season, with Martyn Ridyard kicking a penalty and drop-goal in quick succession late on to help secure a vital win; the side’s eighth in a row.
