LEIGH boss Paul Rowley has warned his side not to read too much into Sheffield’s position in the league ahead of Sunday’s game at the Sports Village.
Mark Aston’s side – the current back-to-back Championship Champions – have been inconsistent in 2014 and are currently eighth in the table.
“The Sheffield team is more or less the same one which won last year’s Grand Final,” said Rowley.
“They have some high quality personnel and have enjoyed some good performances away from home.
“We are treating this game as a visit from the champions, not a mid-table team.
“Recent results in this league have proved anyone is capable of beating anyone and we need to keep working to improve.”
Centurions are looking for a staggering 18th consecutive league win on Sunday. They are 10 points clear at the top of the table but Rowley is keen to avoid complacency.
“Sheffield will be targeting this game to show why they are Champions,” he said.
“They won convincingly at Dewsbury who gave us such a tough game so we know what to expect.”
