LEIGH will announce their final signing for the 2015 season on Saturday night.
Head of rugby Derek Beaumont and coach Paul Rowley will finally reveal their marquee signing via the club’s internet media service, Centurions TV at 10pm.
Rowley has so far refused to be drawn on speculation linking the Kingstone Press Championship Champions with NRL forward Fuifui Moimoi.
But reports in Australia suggest the Parramatta Eeels forward, who actually played at the Sports Village for Tonga in last year’s Rugby League World Cup, is on his way to Leigh.
Moimoi, 35, has played more than 200 games in the NRL and has also represented New Zealand 12 times.
Such a signing would represent a major coup for the ambitious Centurions who recently went full-time.
Leigh though have been frustrated in their attempts to arrange pre-season friendlies.
Salford became the latest team to pull out of a warm-up match and the decision sparked a war of words on Twitter between Leigh’s Derek Beaumont and Marwan Koukash, the outspoken owner of the Red Devils.
Beaumont accused Salford of trying to lure Centurions star Ryan Brierley to Salford and having been rebuffed, pulled the plug on a friendly scheduled for January 25.
Centurions will though face Wigan in a warm-up game on January 18 at the Sports Village.
