Leigh Centurions have named their 19-man squad for the Kingstone Press Championship Round 6 fixture against Whitehaven at LSV on Sunday (3pm) as they go in search of a new all-time club record.

Paul Rowley’s side have recorded 16 successive victories to equal the all-time club record they set at the start of last season. That run was ended with the 12-25 Challenge Cup defeat at Leeds Rhinos in June 2014 and included 13 Championship victories and three in the Challenge Cup.

The current sequence began following the 16-24 defeat at Doncaster last July- Leigh’s only reverse during the 2014 Kingstone Press Championship season. It includes 12 Championship games, three play-off games including the Grand Final victory over Featherstone Rovers and last week’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup victory over London Broncos.

If selected for the final 17, club captain Oliver Wilkes will be making the 400th senior appearance of his career.

Ben Reynolds, who has yet to make his senior debut for the Club and Martin Aspinwall, who has yet to make his seasonal debut are included in the squad.
