LEIGH’S first full-time squad for a decade is one “major” player away from completion says coach Paul Rowley.

“We have got one more to announce,” confirmed Rowley.

“We will confirm who at the start of December but all I will say is that we’re promising a big name and we will deliver a big name.”

Leigh return to training on Monday and Rowley is looking forward to getting all the players together again after a few weeks off.

“Every day is planned till next September,” said Rowley. “There have not been a lot of changes to the squad so we have no issues with getting to know each other.

“The players we have brought in are great lads and won’t have a problem settling in here.

“We are looking forward to getting stuck in and working hard. There are a lot of challenges ahead, not just from the relegated Super League teams – Bradford and London – but from the likes of Dewsbury and Doncaster who have strengthened well.”

Rowley says he is looking to loan out five or six players to keep his big squad busy. No friendly matches have been confirmed but Rowley says the club is hoping to line up at least four warm-ups.
