Leigh Centurions have signed up young hooker Lewis Foster on a full-time contract for 2015.
A product of the successful Reserves side, Foster has been able to make the step up thanks to financial help from Leigh Independent Supporters Association (LISA).
Foster, 20, signed his new contract during the half-time interval of Sunday’s game against Dewsbury.
Leigh’s head of rugby Derek Beaumont said: “We are indebted once again to the hard work of LISA and their fantastic donation to fund half of the salary to upgrade a reserves player to a full-time contract.
“We were delighted to be presented with the donation and as a result Lewis will be joining our full-time squad. Lewis is absolutely buzzing and will develop massively as a result of all the LISA members’ hard work.
Formerly with Thatto Heath and St Helens Academy Foster was called up for his first team debut against Doncaster at LSV in May.
He joins reserves team-mates Chris Hankinson and Jamie Tracey in joining head coach Paul Rowley’s full-time squad for 2015.
