I WAS shocked and appalled by the story I read in Thursday’s Evening Post.
The sheer fact that someone could torment and abuse another person is bad enough, but I could not believe the leniency.
For beating another woman repeatedly with a metal pole, forcing her to eat dog food, making her urinate in a bucket and stand outside in the rain, Julie Davies, 52, of Blackpool, only got a suspended sentence. Where is the justice in that?
I understand the perpetrator may have mental health issues, but surely, this should be addressed further? She needs to be put through some sort of rehabilitation programme and not just given a restraining order.
This woman is now roaming free, and could do the same to another victim.
