A WOMAN has been charged with animal cruelty offences after four dogs killed a teenage girl in a house in Atherton.

Beverley Concannon, 45, of Almond Grove, Worsley Hall, Wigan has been charged with two offences under Section 4 (1) and one offence under Section 9 (1) of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

She is due before Wigan Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 1.

Shortly after 2pm on Tuesday, March 26, police were called to an address on Chaucer Grove following reports a teenage girl was unconscious and a number of dogs were out of control.

Officers attended and found the body of a 14-year-old Jade Lomas-Anderson. They were confronted by a number of dogs that were aggressive and out of control. As a result, four dogs were humanely destroyed by armed police officers.
