Witness re-appeal after man dragged by car

POLICE are re-appealing for witnesses after a man was dragged along by a car after in Wigan.

At around 12.40am on Sunday June 21, two men in their 40s, were on Banner Street, Hindley, when a man in an old-style dark Landrover approached them.

An altercation occurred with the passenger of the Landrover, during which one of the men was injured. After a few minutes the passenger got back into the vehicle.

The man in the Landrover then grabbed the other man and held onto his clothing, driving away still holding the man, before he eventually let him go at the junction of George Street and Chapel Green Road.

Now police are re-appealing for witnesses

Detective Constable Lynsey Watson said: “We are still working to trace further witnesses who saw this attack. This attack left two men in hospital with significant injuries.

“One of the victims received a serious head injury that he is still receiving treatment for.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the man and woman in a black car who stopped after the attack and gave CPR to the victim, as they may have some information that could help us.

“I would ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time and either witnessed the assault or saw the car driving off, to contact police as soon as possible.”
