PUPILS at a Leigh secondary school were inspired by a visit from a leading fantasy author.

Writer and illustrator Curtis Jobling, who has worked in animation on hit children’s TV programmes Bob The Builder and Curious Cow, visited Westleigh High School on Westleigh Lane for a day of literary-themed activities.

Curtis led a series of workshops for the pupils based on his current range of young adult fantasy books about the lives of a group of werewolves.

The visit was arranged as part of the afterWords festival, a pilot scheme following on from the highly-successful Words festival which arranged for a series of leading writers and poets to go into schools across the borough and teach pupils about their work.
