POLICE are appealing for help catching two men involved in an armed robbery at a video store in Westhoughton.
Computer consoles and cash were stolen when two offenders wearing balaclavas, one brandishing a metal bar, burst into the Blockbuster store on Wigan Road at around 8.20pm on February 7.
The two offenders threatened several customers and the cashier, who they forced to empty cash from the till into a bag. The thieves also stole a Microsoft Xbox and three Sony Playstation 3 consoles before leaving and getting into a waiting car.
No-one was injured in the incident, but the cashier and customers were left shaken.
Police have now released the CCTV images from the store in the hope the public will be able to help identify those responsible.
The first man is described as being about 6ft 6in tall, of a muscular build and wearing a balaclava and dark clothing.
The other man, who wielded the metal bar, was said to be of a similar height and build and wearing a grey tracksuit top. The getaway vehicle is believed to be a silver saloon.
Detective Constable Phil Sharpe, of Bolton CID, said: “If you have suspicions about two people you think may have been involved in this robbery and match this description, it is vital we hear from you.
“We need to find these two men and bring them to justice so I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward.
“If you were in the area at that time, or know of anyone who may have been offering the consoles for sale, I would ask that you take a good look at the CCTV images.
“Although the offenders’ faces are well covered up, their body shape and clothes may well be of someone you recognise.”
Anyone with information should call Bolton CID on 0161 856 5765 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
