Teens seriously injured after scooter crash

TWO teenage boys have been seriously injured after the scooter they were travelling on crashed into a lamppost and barrier.

Emergency services were called to Bank Street in Golborne at around 9.15pm last night (Saturday) following the collision which happened on the junction with Prescott Street.

The Yamaha schooter’s driver and passenger, both 16-year-old boys, suffered serious injuries and remain in hospital in a stable condition.

Police are now appealing for information and witnesses.

PC Phil Shaw from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Two young men have been seriously injured and we are working to establish the circumstances of the collision.

“We are urging anyone who may have seen the scooter before the incident, or the collision itself, to tell us what they saw.”
