A SUPERMARKET marked the end of its fund-raising association with a local guide dog centre by handing over a cheque for more than £3000.
Sainsbury’s in Leigh raised the amount for the Guide Dogs training centre, based in Atherton, during the 12-month period the organisation was its local charity partner, with staff taking part in a range of fund-raising events and activities.
Despite the partnership coming to an end, the store will continue to support the Guide Dogs through holding in-store collections.
The store is currently searching for its next local charity partner, after shoppers were able to nominate worthy causes for consideration.
Sainsbury’s Leigh store manager Sal Cau said: “Our last charity partnership with The Guide Dogs proved a great success and we’re looking forward to continuing to support them.”
Last year Sainsbury’s helped more than 1,000 charities across the UK.
