POLICE are hunting two men who burst into a bookmakers and threatened staff with a hammer.
The pair entered Betfred on Elliott Street in Tyldesley at around 6pm on Sunday, December 214, and one of the men jumped over the counter and started demanding cash.
The terrified staff member showed him where the money was kept and he emptied two tills while his accomplice chased another staff member from the building with a hammer.
The pair then fled up Elliott Street.
Both offenders were wearing all black clothing, with hoods up and balaclavas covering their faces. They both had slim build and stood around 5ft 9in to 6ft tall.
Detective Constable Amelia Trimble said: “These men came armed and ready to use force to get what they wanted.
“Fortunately no one was hurt, but that should not detract from the seriousness of this crime.
“If you saw two men matching the above description in the area at the time, please contact police.”
