FORMER miners, some who had not met up since 1992, got together in a Leigh club at the weekend.

The occasion was the reunion of Parsonage Colliery held at Leigh Miners Welfare Club to mark two decades since its closure.

The well-attended event was organised by former coalface worker Tony Hogan who admits to still missing the camaraderie of the Colliery to this day.

And old pals were delighted to meet up and reminisce about the days when coal was king and the pits were the main employer in towns such as Leigh.
