PUPILS from Holy Family RC Primary school in Boothstown Y5 and 6 took part in the CAFOD Mini-Olympics at John Rigby College, Orrell, last week.

The Y5 and Y6 youngsters competed against eight other of the borough’s schools in events such as 600m, 100m, throwing and long jump. The event was run by Mr Mike Doolan who carried the Olympic Flame through Tatton Park on May 31. The Olympics will now move to another borough before winners are announced.

The children were allowed to hold the Olympic torch and all received a medal, a ball, and a certificate.
