OAP cut from car after crashing into gardens

A PENSIONER had to be cut free from his car after driving through three gardens.

The 73-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a garden fence driving through two gardens before coming to a stop in the third.

A fire crew from Leigh were called to Cranworth Avenue in Astley at around 11.10am this morning, Monday, and cut the man from the car.

He has suffered cuts to his face and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The cause of the accident is unclear but may have been due to the driver suffering a medical episode.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
