Mourners gather at funeral of Miracle Godson

WIGAN Parish Church was packed with mourners saying their tearful goodbyes to Miracle Godson.

Hundreds of people watched the service, led by Canon Ray Hutchinson, with contributions from Rev Denise Hayes, of St Barnabas Church and Pastor Dele Adewunmi, of Deeper Life Bible Church, in Bolton, where Miracle’s parents, Godson and Eilizabeth Anumba, attend.

And as the church was full, there were many well-wishers outside who also wanted to pay their respects to the 13-year-old who drowned in Appley Bridge Quarry on April 10.

Family and friends were asked to wear white to celebrate Miracle’s life, with many of his friends wearing their school uniforms.

Close family attended a private service before the main ceremony, which lasted about an hour.
