Man loses fight for life after collision

A MAN who was seriously injured following a collision in Westhoughton has died.

Shortly before 9.10pm on Friday, police were called to Leigh Road following reports of a collision.

Officers attended and found that a Toyota Aygo had been in collision with a pedestrian, 65-year-old Maurice Isherwood from the local area.

Maurice was taken to hospital for treatment to a bleed to the brain, a fractured pelvis and a collapsed lung.

He sadly died from his injuries in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

The driver was uninjured.
