Members of a local drama group donned fancy dress and washed cars to raise funds.

And Lowton Operatic and Drama Society (LOADS) raised £136 with a lot of hardwork and more than a few giggles from adult and youth members.

The weather was kind staying dry until the last two cars of the day, the rain helping with the rinsing to the delight of the by now exhausted volunteers.

And Committee member, Yvonne Eastoe, said: “I’d like to say thanks to everyone who participated and made it a successful day and more importantly to the public who got behind us with their support.

“We have also gained several new members to the youth group plus a new adult member but there is room for more people, young and more mature!”.

If anyone else would like to join LOADS - new members don’t need to be singers and dancers thay can be musicians, back stage technicians, prop makers, wardrobe, hospitality for front of house on show days - as either members or patrons visit info@lowtonoads.co.uk or call 07928 232121.
