ENGLAND’S under-18s rugby union squad trained at the Leigh Sports Village before their Six Nations match with France.
The squad made use of the sports pitches, swimming pool and gym, stayed at the LSV’s hotel and were joined by their compatriots from the under-17s squad.
Training in Leigh clearly helped the squad as they then went on to secure an 18-16 victory over France at Fylde.
England U18’s Head Coach, John Fletcher, said: “The majority of the squad hadn’t played for the U18s before and they were determined to perform as well as the previous U18 squads. “We struggled last season against a very big and powerful U17 French team so it was great to see how the players had improved from last season.
“The facilities here at Leigh Sports Village are excellent and we’d like to thank them for hosting us.”
