Leigh Centurions Rugby league club and The O2 shop in Leigh have joined forces to stage a huge fun filled event on Sunday, August 4 at Leigh Sports Village.
The O2 Shop in Leigh, with the support of Samsung Mobile UK, are intent on bringing Leigh Sports Village to life from 11am right up until the kick off of the game v Swinton.
Outside the ground they are bringing serious pre-match entertainment with live music, dancers, circus acts and face painting. Both O2 and Samsung have an abundance of prizes to give away before the match, including digital cameras, smartphones and more.
O2 Leigh’s Business Development Manager, Emma Day said: “We are pleased to be associated with a real institution in our town and our partnership for this event hopefully will mark the beginnings of a great future working together.”
Leigh Centurions have recently seen the successful launch of their new TV channel, Centurions TV, which allows fans to watch all their games in HD.
Rob Parker, Business manager at the club, said: “We are excited to be working together with local businesses such as O2 who, like us have an aim to be very much a part of the community.
“We aim to raise funds for Hand on Heart, a Manchester based charity which, since January 2011 has placed over 85 fully and partially funded defibrillator packages in schools across the UK. For each of those schools they have also trained 560 school staff to use defibrillators and educate 30 children per school on basic life support.
“Hand on Heart Charity has a simple goal; to prevent the deaths of the 12 young people who die due to a sudden cardiac arrest each week.”
The pre match event is also supported by Cadence Cafe CIC, the organiser of the very successful O2 supported Cadence Festival in Tyldesley bringing some of the best local talent to Leigh Sports Village for the event.
Tickets for the match are available at the ticket office on 01942 487 888, the Centurions Club shop and free with selected purchases at the O2 shop, Spinning Gate Shopping Centre, Leigh.
