A 13-YEAR-OLD Wigan student will meet the Queen this weekend.
Zoe Unsworth has been invited to meet the Queen as a local ‘Shining Star’ at the Manchester Lord Mayor’s Indoor Garden Party on Friday.
Hailed as a star of the future, Zoe has an amazing singing voice, on the style of Amy Whitehouse and Adele. Zoe won the Wigan Talent Show last year, beating hundreds of other hopefuls of all ages.
She has sung on the pitch at Sale rugby club and performed at the switch-on ceremony of Leigh’s Christmas Lights.
RL fans can hear her live on Good Friday when she is singing at the Leigh Centurions game in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
The Hospice will benefit from a bucket collection at the game, 50 per cent of profits from the sale of specially designed shirts and all the proceeds of an eBay raffle of signed player shirts.
Zoe’s proud mum, Annette who is the Commercial Manager at Leigh Centurions, said: “We are very aware of the sterling work done by our local Hospice and Zoe is thrilled to have the opportunity of helping them.”
Centurions Chief Executive Trevor Barton added: “My family have had several experiences of Hospice care and I have to say, it has always been outstanding. The staff and players here are delighted to be able to support Wigan & Leigh Hospice.
“You too can help by buying the unique match shirts and by supporting the Hospice bucket collection.”
The game kicks off at noon, but be early to hear Zoe.
