Hunt out treasure or trash at sale

AN indoor Trash and Treasure Sale is being held at the Methodist Church in Tyldesley on Saturday (February 4).

Admission to the sale, which is in aid of church funds, is just 20p and everyone is welcome.

The church on Elliott Street has a comfortable cafe which will be serving bacon barms, hot pot, hot drinks and cakes.

String quartet to play at church

THE Halle Orchestra will play in Leigh.

Or rather, a string quartet from the Halle Orchestra, will play in a concert organised by the Rotary Club of Leigh at Leigh Parish Church on Saturday, March 3, at 7.30pm, in aid of local charities.

Chamber music at Derby Room

LEIGH Music Society will host one of the North West’s best young violinists at their next monthly recital on Sunday, February 5.

Royal Northern College of Music postgraduate student Sophie Rosa will be accompanied on piano by society president Duncan Glenday in an afternoon of chamber music at The Derby Room in Leigh Library from 2.15 to 4.15pm.
