CHILDREN in Leigh can learn how to care for pets responsibly by taking part in a series of free pet workshops this summer.

Pets at Home is launching its Kids’ Holiday Pet Club for the fifth consecutive year. Specially designed to educate children on responsible pet ownership in a fun, friendly and interactive environment, the workshops will take place at the Leigh store throughout the summer holidays.

Store Manager Simon Holt said: “Our ‘Furry Friends’ workshops will teach them how to best look after a variety of small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats or gerbils. The ‘Scales and Fins’ workshops will focus on reptiles, fish and wildlife.”

Workshops will take place at the store at least three times a week and will last approximately 30 minutes. To find out when, contact the Leigh team using www.petsathome.com/storelocator

Children taking part in the Kids’ Holiday Pet Club will receive free goodies.
