A MAN was left badly shaken after two offenders snatched his wallet.

The 48-year-old man was robbed near Shakerley Road in Tyldesley after leaving the town’s Poundstretcher store at around 6.20pm on October 11.

The man was making his way down a path leading off Shakerley Road across open land towards Ellesmere Street and got out his wallet when a man asked if he could exchange some money. The offender then grabbed the man by the throat and pushed him into a brick wall, before snatching the wallet and throwing it to another man on a mountain bike. The cyclist rode off and the other offender fled.

Police are now appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

DC Brendan Greally, from the Volume Crime Team at Wigan, said: “The man was not physically injured but has been badly shaken up by being robbed by these two men.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 7352 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
