A WELL-known charity fund-raiser has had his scooter stolen from a pub car park.

Kevin Lawton, widely known in the area as Ginger, had his customised blue Lambretta taken from outside the Cross Guns pub in Westhoughton on Saturday September 14.

Kevin has been organising Ginger’s Egg Run, which sees hundreds of scooter enthusiasts descend on Lowton to ride to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, for 26 years, raising thousands of pounds for charity.

This year’s edition of the event attracted around 800 riders from across the North West, with many people camping over in Lowton for the weekend.

The stolen scooter can be identified by its Union Jack and Rangers badges, and Kevin has made a plea for its safe return.

Anyone with information can ring the police on the non-emergency number 101 or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
