THREE residents are celebrating after receiving a qualification from Wigan Council.
The Adactus Housing Association occupants obtained this through Dame Kelly Holmes’ ‘Get On Track’ programme - a national project which helps young people achieve their goals through sport.
Tracey Eccleston, who manages the Leigh project on behalf of Adactus, said: “Our staff worked very hard to ensure that the residents were ready to attend these training sessions.
“The course was extremely motivational and the residents enjoyed the programme. For some of these young people committing to and completing a project is a huge achievement and we are extremely proud of all of them.
“Adactus will continue to support the residents now onto other programmes or into employment.”
One of the course participants was Nathaniel Fitton.
He said: “The course was motivational and lots of fun. Meeting new people was great.”
Adactus’ supported housing scheme provides short term accommodation for young people who cannot live at home with their parents and helps equip them with life skills and to obtain settled accommodation.
