A GROUP of women from an Astley dance class raised hundreds of pounds for a charity dedicated to helping people in underdeveloped countries.
Kim Titterton, professional dance teacher, held a charity zumbathon at Astley Independent Methodist Church.
She and 18 local ladies took part in the 90-minute non-stop cardiovascular workout consisting of Latin, jazz, salsa, street dance, tribal and relaxation movement.
They raised £450 which will be donated to Mission Helping Hands charity.
The Christian organisation works in a rural area in Uganda which is populated by poor and uneducated people, many suffering with malaria, TB and HIV.
The charity provides education and training in skills such as knitting, sewing and computer skills.
The money will go towards buying equipment for a new health centre built by the charity.
