THE ST Helens RL hooker Scott Moore has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following an early hours crash in Lowton.

Police arrested the 23-year-old after a Volkswagen Scirocco collided with three parked cars and a fence post shortly before 4am last Friday (June 10).

Evidence of the incident on Norwood Avenue was still on display hours later on Friday afternoon.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “A man has been arrested following a collision in Lowton. At 3.50am on Friday, June 10, police were called to Norwood Avenue, Lowton, following reports of a collision.

“Officers attended and discovered that a Volkswagen Scirocco had collided with three parked cars and a fence. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and was held in custody for questioning.”

Moore has since been bailed until July 25 pending further inquiries.

A Saints spokesman said: “The matter is being dealt with internally at the club and he (Moore) will be subjected to the club’s disciplinary procedure if there is a case to answer.”

Moore was named in the 19-man Saints squad prior to Sunday’s 14-14 draw with Bradford but did not make the final 17.
