Crime line mobile

THE Independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers is making it even easier and more accessible for people to give information about crime in the area through the launch of a mobile version of its website.

More than 40 per cent of all information being passed to Crimestoppers comes in via the anonymous online form on the charity’s website.

In the two weeks following the launch of the mini mobile website last month, the charity passed on just over 2,000 pieces of information to the police in the UK, around 12 per cent of this coming from the mobile site.

The site allows users to access the charity’s secure online form which has been optimised for mobile devices and make a donation to Crimestoppers via text message through Just Text Giving.

Now the public can give information ‘on the go’ with anonymity guaranteed.

Crimestoppers can be contacted through the new mobile site, through a computer online, or via the anonymous 0800 555 111 number.
