ORGANISERS from a local charity evening want to say a big thank you. to locals who helped make it such a success.
Sacred Heart Parish Centre, Walmsley Road, Leigh, held an event to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
The evening, which took place on August 5, raised the spirits of MND sufferers and their families by the goodwill and kindness shown by the community who helped raise funds.
Christians, from some 18 local churches in Leigh, came together to organise the event and managed to raise a staggering £2,474 for the charity close to their hearts.
All gifts sold on the night, were kindly donated from local residents.
The grand total, including earlier funding, was presented to the association who help those with the weakening terminal disease which can strike an adult at any time,
Ed Pierce, of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, spoke, on the night, about the voluntary work supporting the charity and MND sufferers in the area. Four raffle prizes are yet to be caimed - numbers 80, 132, 151 and 488!
