Changes to council’s bank account

From April 2015, the bank account Wigan Borough residents pay their council bills into will change.

Residents who currently pay their council tax, business rates, housing rents, council invoices and parking fines by standing order, internet banking (faster payments) or at their local bank will need to change the bank account details on their payment instruction.

Businesses who make BACS and CHAPS payments must amend the bank account details in their accounts payable system to reflect the new bank account.

Residents who pay their bills by Direct Debit, over the telephone, at the Post Office, Pay Point, Life Centre or Planning Portal do not need to do anything.
