AN eight-year-old boy has been injured after he was hit by a car.

The young boy was crossing the road near Asda, in Atherleigh Way, in Leigh, with a family member when he was hit by a blue Vauxhall Signum at 7.30pm on Monday.

He was knocked unconscious and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service attended and took him to Manchester Children’s Hospital with a minor head injury.

He didn’t suffer any other injuries.

Greater Manchester Police also attended, but no arrests were made.
