Bomb hoax suspected at airport

TRAVELLERS on board an aircraft at Manchester Airport had to be evacuated after a passenger claimed to have a bomb in his bag.

Two men, aged 45 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of making a bomb hoax following the drama at Pier B of the airport on Thursday.

Police were called to stand one at around 3.30pm following the reports there might have been an explosive device in the luggage.

Passengers were subjected to another security screening before they were allowed back on board the plane, which was travelling to Marrakech in Morocco, and all the luggage was also checked again.

No explosive devices were found.
