BOSSES at MHA Lighting described winning a Wigan Business Award as “the cherry on the cake”.
Managing director Tom Harrison told of his delight after the Atherton-based firm picked up the prestigious environmental commitment gong.
MHA Lighting produce a range of super-efficient LED solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors - they don’t just sell lights - with clients including Manchester Airport and the NHS.
They aim to help every one of their clients achieve the best lit environment possible with unique energy-saving lighting solutions which can slash CO2 emissions and energy bills by up to 80 per cent.
Tom Harrison said: “Winning this award is testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff.
“Being nominated for any award is the cherry on the cake for us a business but the Wigan Business Awards are even more special given that we are a Wigan borough-based company.
“To gain recognition locally and from our peers is really amazing and it is also extremely impressive to see the quality of the other nominees.
“We should all be very proud of the standard of business that is being generated in Wigan and work together locally to support and promote local organisations wherever possible.”
MHA Lighting was launched in 2009 and has since built up an impressive client base.
Due to the rapidly changing nature of the LED lighting industry, MHA Lighting has launched a brand new product range which will offer the opportunity for our customers to take advantage of even further energy savings and CO2 reductions.
This new technology means they can now put fewer LEDs into their products, whilst sustaining fixture light output.
Mr Harrison said: “This is not an incremental improvement on existing technology – it is a fundamental step change in our capabilities.
“Our product development team are able to create a bespoke or retrofit lighting solutions to meet a customer’s individual requirements.
“They have also repeatedly demonstrated an ability to develop a prototype and produce a range of products in short lead times.
“This agility has been crucial to us winning a number of high profile clients and differentiates us from many of our competitors.”
He added: “We also have a strong commitment to local employment in what was once the heartland of electronics and electro-mechanical skills.”
