THESE group of girls are taking part in a summer workshop and will perform in hit musical Annie next month.
Megan Gill, 11, of Atherton, Chloe Yates, 17, from Leigh, Rebecca Morton, 16, of Astley, Katie Slinn and Rebecca Smith, both 16, of Ashton, and Melissa Hogan, 14, from Hindley Green, are currently rehearsing as part of The Palace Theatre and Opera House’s annual Stage Experience.
The two-week workshop provides budding actors, singers, dancers and musicians aged 11 to 21 the chance to experience what it is like to work on a professionally run theatre production.
After last year’s success with Fame, the youngsters will tackle on Annie, the musical which follows an orphan determined to find her parents whilst under the rule of the bitter Miss Hannigan.
The girls are busy now getting ready for the performances, flexing their vocal chords to tunes such as Tomorrow, which take place between August 2 and 4.
Chloe Yates said she wanted to take part in Stage Experience has she hopes to become a professional performer one day.
Rebecca Morton, who says her favourite musical is Chicago, said: “I enjoy performing so that will be the best bit.”
Melissa Hogan said: “I’ll be a bit nervous but mostly excited.”
Annie, performed by Manchester Stage Experience, will take place from Thursday, August 2 to Saturday, August 4 at Palace Theatre, Oxford Street, Manchester
