Have your say

WHY not treat your dad to a fun night out at a local comedy club.

We have teamed up with Goloborne Comedy Club which although it has only been running for five months regularly attracts upwards of 100 people.

And you could join them if you enter our competition to win one of five pairs of tickets.

Guy Thomas has been involved in comedy both performing and promoting for about six years and has played 100s of gigs and promoted regular nights in Manchester and the North East during that time.

These featured the likes of Justin Moorhouse, Chris Ramsey, Seymour Mace, Jason Cook all of whom have several TV credits to their name.

And Guy has also run the Comedy tent at the Kendal Calling festival for three of the last five years.

So it was almost inevitable when marriage brought him to live in Lowton that he found a suitable venue for a comedy night at Golborne Sports and Social Club.

Guy, who is MC at the club, said: “I am passionate about comedy and my long term view is to make the night one of the very best in the North West.

“I have extensive contacts on the comedy circuit as well as a reputation of running excellent nights of comedy, which help attract the line-up”.

The next Comedy Club starring Andrew Ryan, Peter McCole and Alex Boardman is being held on Friday, June 29 at the club in Stone Cross Lane, Golborne WA3 2SL. Doors open at 8pm with the show starting at 8.30pm.

Tickets are £9 in advance or £10 on the door (delivered free of charge by calling 07791 916055) or can be bought at the sports club from behind the bar, for table reservations again call: 07791 916055
