And Victoria Goulden was runner-up for best actress in a musical category for her portrayal of Lina Ebeseder, the daughter of a celebrated pastry cook in Vienna, in the Three Towns production of Waltzes from Vienna at St Joseph’s Hall, Leigh, in May.

The society was awarded runner-up for best choreography too.

A delighted Allen Christey-Casson, director and choreographer, received the award, saying: “I am very pleased and honoured to have been recognised for my work on Waltzes from Vienna but the honour must also go to the company for their hard work and enthusiasm which resulted in a wonderful show.”

Leading soprano Victoria is no stranger to the award scene as she was nominated last year by BATS for best actress in a musical in the society’s production of The Yeomen of the Guard.
