A GROUP from Atherton knocked back by a TV talent show have had the last laugh since then.
One Vo1ce are now through to the finals of TWO other talent contests and are still flying high despite what could have been a setback.
The duo - Matthew James, 27, and Peter Green, 30, auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent (BGT) at the end of last year, but failed to make it through to the judges’ stages.
But now they are in the final of Live and Unsigned’s regional heat in Manchester, which takes place on April 14,
If they are successful they will compete in the National Grand Final as part of Live Fest, in May, hoping to win a 100-date UK tour and £10,000.
They will also take part in Britain Does Variety, the country’s second biggest variety contest, on April 21.
If they win the regional heat, they will take part in the national competition, with the prize to perform at London’s O2 area.
Matthew said: “We heard we didn’t get through to the rounds of Britain’s got Talent as they said they had plenty of duos this time.
“It just depended on what they wanted for this series, but we shall try again next year.
“For Live and Unsigned we sang Dance With My Father and didn’t seem to fit in. But the judges said that we were unique.
“With Britain’s Got Variety the judges seemed to recognise us from winning previous competitions.
“We are also in the studio, recording songs for an album, which we hope to release this year.”
