LEIGH’s Joey Hayes will take on Wiganers in the latest show organised by Grand Professional Wrestling (GPW) early next month.
And the fight with Joey and his partner, the hugely popular Ste Mann, reigning GPW British Champion up against the Roy Wood trained Jack Gallagher teamed up with Wigan’s Danny Hope will be watched by American talent scouts.
A representative from the American-based WWE will be at the ‘Friday Night Thriller ‘at the Rose Club (formerly the Monaco) in Hindley
And that’s down to world-renowned grappler Robbie Brookside who appeared on the hugely successful Grand Pro Wrestling event in August.
Brookside was so impressed by the Wigan based group he decided to put their names forward to Talent Relations.
Consequently WWE are sending someone to check out GPW wrestlers at the next event on October 5.
He will select three grapplers who will then receive a tryout when the WWE returns to the UK at the end of the October.
And if that’s successful they might receive a developmental contract to work with the WWE. The show also features one of wrestling’s most exciting bouts, a 15 Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal.
Doors at the Rose Club open at 7pm with the show starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are just £8 per person or £27 for a family of four and can be purchased by calling 07703312146 or online via http://www.grandprowrestling.co.uk/shop
