TWO Atherton wrestlers could be heading to careers in America.

Talent scouts from the WWE organisation attended last month’s Grand Pro Wrestling show in Hindley, tipped off by top wrestler Robbie Brookside, and selected the grapplers for a tryout that will take place when the group returns to the UK later in the month.

And it was trainees the Island Brothers who, caught the eye, both of whom will be in action at GPW’s next show on Friday (November 2).

So, possibly for the last time at the Rose Club (formerly the Monaco) at Hindley, the Island Brothers, of Atherton, will face the hugely popular Track and Field in a tag team challenge.

In the main event, Leigh’s Joey Hayes will be challenging for the Heavyweight title as he takes on champion Hindley’s own Martin Kirby in a return match from last month which had fans on the edge of their seats.

The show will also see the highly anticipated return of Holland’s Mark Kodiak as he teams up with GPW Owner Johnnie ‘Heresy’ Brannigan to take on The Blackpool Blonds while Ste Mann will face the Roy Wood-trained Jack Gallagher in a grudge match.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 per person/£27 for a family of four and can be purchased by calling 07703 312146 or online via http://www.grandprowrestling.co.uk/shop
