CHILDREN at Christ Church Primary didn’t waste any time in telling Andy Burnham just how important every second is when it comes to saving someone’s life.

The Leigh MP visited the primary school as part of the British Heart Foundation and Resuscitation Council campaign encouraging the government to put Emergency Life Support Skills on the school curriculum.

Children and teachers spoke to Mr Burnham about ELS and how their training could mean the difference between life and death because it meant taking action in the vital minutes before professional help arrived.

The charity has already trained more than 2.6 million people and now wants every pupil leaving school to have the ability to save a life.
